Moments Worth Living

All my live I have studied and lived at Itaúna, where my parets still live. I moved to BH this year and was very dificult to adapted and socialize with the people from here. I have to let my old friends and start a new live. In spite of everthing else I like to live here and the people I have met, the many chooses I have made I know I chose the right way. But What makes my live worth living is to be with my new and old friends that support me in everthing I decided to do, and my parentes that even been far away, still try to do everthing they can to help me. This year is anding and a new one will came, I hope that will be better and I will make more friends.

                                           A picture from Itaúna
To next year I still wait that I could find time to make dance classes, because is another thing that makes my live woorth living. When I dance I feel that all my fears will pass away and I can show what I felling.

Moments Worth Living

All my life I have studied in Escola Balão Vermelho. The school works with a diferent type of teaching and learning, which focus at the citizen education. There, teachers and students are friends and they construct good relationships for all life, that's why I missing Balão so much. When I visit the school I realize that have studied there really makes me feel that life is worth living.

There is another thing that I couldn't live without, the contemporary dance. I dance at Corpo Escola de Dança for ten years and I love what I do. Dancing is the best way I can express my feelings and Corpo's project is really nice. Go to my dance classes also makes me feel that life worth living.

If you want to feel that life worth living you should enjoy every little moment with your friends and family and you should love what you do, because it is on the simple things that we find hapiness.

Review: "Voices From The List"

The last film we saw was a documentary based on interviews from the survivors from the holocaust. All of them are jewish who belong to the Schindler's list. The interviews show how was jewish lives during the Second World War, how they were saved and how they continue their lives. Because it is told from the point of view from the jewish people who lived there, the documentary brings us more information about the event.

The interviewees said that they started working on Schindler's fabric because they were cheap workers, but as time goes by, Schindler began to contract their families, with the propose to save them. So he made a list with the names of the jewish families and sent them to his new fabric. In the documentary they also told about how they were thanked and how they felt when they were saved by Schindler.

The film is very touching and deep, and we would recommend it to anyone, even those who are too sensitive. It is a good film for who wants to know more about the holocaust, it is complete, with many details and has the vision of the event from the survivors. What we would say is to go and try it, you will probably like it.

  It's tough to be a parent !

The relationship between parents and children is always a much discussed topic in psychology area. The truth is that this type of relation is very complex and changes from family to family and generation to generation.

In the past, parents were much stricter and treated their children like little adults, without preference or special care. This kind of education, obligated children to be mature earlier, prevented them from enjoying their childhood and gave them no space or opportunity to ask for help when needed.

Nowadays, children are considered untouchable people and parents do not seem to be doing what they’re supposed to do. Mothers and fathers no longer impose limits and bring their children up into a bell jar, not teaching them how to go through real life. The number of parents who look for professionals help such as psychologists, psychiatrists and educators, to learn and try to understand and deal with their children is getting bigger and bigger. This situation results on a generation of spoiled, disrespectful unprepared people. The speech that people are products of the environment cannot be used as an excuse for a failed education, which is actually, a reflection of too liberal and confused parents who don’t transmit security. On the other hand, a more flexible, relaxed and opened parents-child communication has risen, creating a space where the family can talk about several subjects and break taboos.

The important conclusion is that children have to be raisen with love, respect and care, in a situation where they can have a chance to solve their problems and ask for help. But children also need limits, ‘no’, and the understanding that someone is in control and that may rely on this person when necessary. Balance is, once again, the leading word.

Student Exchange Program

The Student Exchange Program is nowadays a great option for young students in high school who’d like to learn or improve another language and experience another culture. The original goal was an exchange of students between different countries, but no trade off is actually required, so a student is allowed to go to another country without finding a counterpart in that country to exchange with. The students live in a host family, and go to a normal school, places where they can practise their English, since they’re living with natives. The Exchange Program normally lasts from 6 months to a year, a short period of time, but long enough so the students can have an idea of what life in another country is like.
When we choose to live in another country, we have to be sure that this is what we want and we know that we’re gonna be through a lot of changes.
If you’re thinking about going on an Exchange Program, you should analyze all the options and one that suits your objectives and money situation.

The most chosen countries for Exchange Programs are:

CANADA

Canada is a great option because both English and French are spoken, it’s a very developed country and the people are very nice!

 AUSTRALIA

In Australia you can have A LOT of fun! The landscapes are awesome, people there love radical sports and are very friendly!

ENGLAND

Going to England is great because you can see a lot of culture, travel around Europe and live with a whole new kind of people!

USA

The States are the most chosen option foe Exchange Programs. There is a big variety of cultures and different kinds of cities where you can stay!

Wherever you go, the Exchange Program is always a lifetime opportunity to learn another language, another culture, make friends and, of course, have lots of fun!

If you’re interested in going on an Exchange program go to:

Who knows about it ...

“The Program was very important for me. It provided me the opportunity to interact with people from all over the world, to be familiar with different habits, make new friends, and at the same time gave the chance to have an athletic scholarship in a well-known university there. Now I can conciliate my studding with my football career.”
